“Well done, good and faithful servant…” – Matthew 25:21
This morning, as I sat with my brothers Nitin and Ben before officiating the funeral of our dear brother Felix, we opened the Word of God and found ourselves in the parable of the three servants (Matthew 25:14–30). It was no coincidence. The Lord was speaking.
We reflected on the idea of being faithful with what we’ve been given. And in that moment, Nitin shared something powerful—he said, “I feel like I need to do more but I’m being pulled 50 different directions. .”
But what God placed on my heart in that moment was this:
Sometimes, to do more, we have to do less.
We live in a world that glorifies busyness. But busyness does not always equal fruitfulness. When we stretch ourselves too thin, we end up being partially present everywhere and fully effective nowhere. We chase too many tasks, say “yes” to too many things, and end up missing the deeper work God is calling us to.
Jesus Himself modeled this. He didn’t rush. He didn’t try to please every person. He moved intentionally, in step with the Father’s will—doing less, but accomplishing infinitely more.
It’s not about doing everything. It’s about doing the right things—the God-things.
“Better is a handful with quietness than two handfuls with toil and a chasing after the wind.” – Ecclesiastes 4:6
So take inventory. Ask yourself:
What can I release so I can fully pour into what matters most?
What’s distracting me from what God is truly calling me to steward?
Brother Felix didn’t chase 50 tasks—he poured deeply into the few things God called him to: his family, his faith, his friendships. And I believe with all my heart that when he arrived home, the Father said, “Well done, My good and faithful servant.”
Today, let’s do less… so that we may do more. Not for applause, but for purpose. Not to be busy, but to be fruitful.
