Appreciate the Rock—and the Rock Bottom
Scripture:
“Adonai is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.”
— Tehillim (Psalms) 18:2, CJB
Reflection:
We all say we’re grateful for the Rock when life feels steady. When prayers are answered. When things are going well.
But many of us forget to appreciate rock bottom—the place where pride breaks, excuses die, and surrender finally begins.
Rock bottom has a way of stripping away everything that isn’t God, leaving us face-to-face with the truth:
Either He becomes our foundation, or we keep falling.
It’s often at our lowest point that we stop standing on ourselves and finally lean fully on Him.
Encouragement:
If you’ve been at rock bottom, don’t despise it.
God often uses that place to realign our footing, rebuild our faith, and remind us that the Rock never moved—only we did.
Stand on Him today.
Be thankful for the Rock.
And yes—even for the rock bottom that led you back to Him.
