Are You Really Stuck, or Just Scared to Take the Next Step?

Scripture:

“Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will level your paths.”

— Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:5–6, CJB

Reflection:

So many times, we tell ourselves we’re stuck. Stuck in a job. Stuck in a relationship. Stuck in a season that feels heavy or overwhelming. But when we look a little deeper, often we discover something else—fear.

Fear of change.

Fear of failing.

Fear of stepping into the unknown.

But brother, sister… fear is not your master. Faith is.

In Scripture, we see again and again that God never leaves His people without a way. He opened the Red Sea. He brought water from a rock. He shut the lion’s mouths. He freed Paul and Silas from a prison cell at midnight. Not once do we see a child of God truly trapped with no escape—because where God is present, there is always a path forward.

Sometimes the real issue is not that we can’t move… but that we don’t want to take the step that requires surrender, courage, and trust. When we rely only on our own strength, yes—things feel impossible. But when we lean on the Lord, our path straightens, our footing strengthens, and our fear loses its voice.

Ask yourself today with honesty:

Are you truly stuck, or is God inviting you to trust Him with the step you’ve been afraid to take?

Encouragement:

You don’t walk alone. If God is calling you forward, He will carry you forward. Take the step—with trembling hands if you must—but take it knowing that your Father is already standing in the place you’re stepping into. He has gone before you, He is walking beside you, and He will hold you up when your strength fails.

You are not stuck—you are being prepared for your next step of faith.
