Blessed Spouse, Blessed House

Blessed Spouse, Blessed House

Scripture:

“Though one may be overpowered, two can resist; and a three-stranded cord is not easily broken.”

— Ecclesiastes 4:12 (CJB)

Reflection:

On wedding days, everyone seems to have advice — don’t go to bed angry, happy wife, happy life, and the list goes on. But the truth is this: the strength of a marriage isn’t found in catchy sayings, but in a covenant that has God at the center.

Marriage isn’t supposed to become “easy.” Anything sacred requires effort, compassion, forgiveness, and daily choosing each other. Some days you’ll stumble. Some days you’ll fall short. But covenant means you don’t quit. Just as Messiah never quits on us, we’re called to love with that same endurance.

Marriage isn’t 50/50 — it’s 100/100. And on the days your spouse only has 10%, you give the 90. And when it’s your turn to be at 10%, they pour out the 90. That’s love. That’s covenant. And yes — you can fall in love over and over again with the same person, and it becomes deeper every time.

Encouragement:

Put God in the center. Put your spouse before yourself. Take selfishness off the table.

If both people are carrying each other, nobody gets dropped.

And when those days come where you wonder, “What did I even see in this person?” — just wait. They’ll remind you. Love always rises again.

I agree Carlos! Barbara, keep sharing that story, it reminds us of the heart in which Felix was seeking God! I love thinking of Felix like that!

Amen!!!!
Felix and I found this out. Having a marriage where God is at the very center is HARD. Why???? Because the enemy knows what you are capable of together. So the strategy is to separate you.
I remember having that very question “ God did I hear you right?? Are you sure???
Then I remember coming around the corner to see Felix with his glasses on, tray in front of him, with his Bible, note book and a book the men’s group was doing. He was intensely reading, highlighting and taking notes. He was preparing to present to the group the chapter he was assigned.
With tears streaming down my face I was reminded this man right here is why . This man had a heart on fire for God and God allowed me to show him the love that the father had for him.
If you pay attention, the Father will remind you
