Come as You Are
Scripture:
“Adonai is near to those with broken hearts; He saves those whose spirit is crushed.”
— Psalm 34:19 (CJB)
Reflection:
You cannot come to a holy God with your goodness — because you don’t have any. None of us do. Our righteousness is like filthy rags before Him. We don’t approach God because we’ve got it all together; we approach Him because we’re falling apart.
When we come before the Lord, it’s not our perfection that draws His presence — it’s our humility. It’s our confession, our surrender, our recognition that we need Him.
God doesn’t reject broken people; He rebuilds them. He doesn’t despise the contrite heart; He delights in it. So stop trying to polish your pain before you present it. Bring it to Him raw and real — because that’s where healing begins.
Encouragement:
Come as you are. Bring the mess, the mistakes, and the mourning. Because grace meets you where you’re broken — not where you pretend to be whole.
