Conforming to This World

Last night at the Zach Top concert, I noticed something that made me pause. Dozens of men were wearing the exact same style of dress shirt. I turned to my son and asked, “Is this a Zach Top thing?” He said, “Yeah, that’s what Zach wears.”

It made me think… doesn’t anyone have their own style anymore? Or are we so eager to fit in that we start copying others without realizing it?

That’s when Romans 12:2 came to mind:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what God’s will is—what is good, acceptable, and perfect.” (CJB)

Too many people today are searching for identity in others—whether it’s a musician, influencer, or friend—because they don’t yet know their identity in Christ. The danger in that is simple: people are human. They change, they fail, and they fade. But Christ never changes.

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

When you know who you are in Him, you no longer need to dress, act, or speak like anyone else to find your worth.

So today, don’t conform—be transformed.

Let your identity reflect the One who made you, not the ones around you.
