Do You Use What You’re Selling?

We’ve all seen it—someone selling a product like Tupperware or Mary Kay. They gather people, explain why it’s amazing, and invite you to buy in. But the real question is—do they use it themselves? If I opened their kitchen drawers, would I find Tupperware? If I looked in their bathroom cabinet, would I see Mary Kay?

The same principle applies to us as followers of Christ. We tell people about Jesus, His mercy, His sacrifice, His love. But if someone looked closely at our lives, would they see us actually using what we’re “selling”? Would they see the peace of Christ guiding our decisions, the joy of the Spirit in our words, the love of God in how we treat others?

Of course, we all stumble. We’re human. But the pattern of our lives should be more walking in Christ than falling away from Him. It should be 90% walking faithfully, 10% stumbling—not the other way around. When others see us, they should say, “That’s a man of Christ. That’s a woman of Christ. I want what they have.”

If you’re living it—if you’re truly using what God has given—you won’t need to sell it. People will see the fruit and come asking, “Why are you so joyful? Where does that peace come from?” And that’s when you can say, “Let me tell you about Jesus.”

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”

— Matthew 5:16 (CJB)

So let’s ask ourselves today: am I living in a way that reflects what I proclaim? Am I using what I’m “selling”?
