Tonight on vacation, I noticed something powerful. Even though we may have our differences from time to time—different opinions, personalities, or approaches—when it came time to step up, everyone did.
Whether it was looking after someone who wasn’t feeling well or taking turns entertaining our grandson, we rallied around each other. No one had to be asked. We just saw a need and filled it. That’s what love does. That’s what family does.
It reminded me of Galatians 6:2:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
The beauty of family isn’t found in perfection. It’s found in presence. It’s in those moments when, despite our differences, we come together out of love and grace. That’s how Christ called us to live—not just as relatives, but as a reflection of His body. Many parts, but one heart.
So today, I’m reminded that the best kind of love doesn’t need a spotlight. It just shows up.
