Getting Our Priorities Straight
A “god” can be anything we put ahead of God on our priority list. This Scripture is both clear and deep—it reminds us to examine what truly sits on the throne of our hearts.
Even as believers, we can easily let things like money, success, relationships, or comfort take God’s place without realizing it. It’s not always that we want those things more than Him—it’s often that we don’t fully trust Him to provide or have a distorted view of what brings true joy in Christ.
The truth is, joy doesn’t come from possessions or achievements. The big house, the full bank account, the “perfect” life—none of it compares to the peace that comes from walking closely with God.
When we put Him first, everything else falls into place just as it should.
“But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
