God Provides

God Provides

Scripture — Luke 12:24

“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?”

— Luke 12:24 (NKJV)

Today’s Thought

We often hear the words, “God provides,” and our minds immediately turn toward money, possessions, success, or abundance. But God’s provision is not always about riches or having everything we desire. He provides what we need to live, grow, serve, and fulfill the purpose He has given us.

Jesus told us to consider the ravens. They do not have storehouses filled with food, yet God feeds them. But the ravens still leave their nests. They fly, search, and gather what God has placed in creation for them.

God provides the worms, berries, seeds, and other food—but the ravens must go out and find it.

The same is often true in our lives.

Trusting God does not mean sitting back and saying, “God, bring money to my door,” or “God, deliver my groceries.” God may provide through the strength to work, the wisdom to make decisions, the opportunity to earn, or the abilities and skills He has already placed within us.

Sometimes we ask God to provide while overlooking what He has already provided.

He may have already given us the gift, opened the door, created the opportunity, or placed the right people around us. But we must be willing to rise, seek, work, and faithfully use what He has given us.

If you are looking for God’s provision today and cannot see it, take another look at the gifts, abilities, resources, and opportunities He has placed in your hands.

The question may not be, “God, why haven’t You provided?”

The question may be, “Am I faithfully using what You have already provided?”

God provides—but we must be willing to go out and gather what He has graciously placed before us.

Prayer

Father, thank You for faithfully providing for me. Open my eyes to recognize the gifts, abilities, resources, and opportunities You have already placed in my life. Give me the wisdom to use them well, the discipline to do my part, and the faith to trust You with the outcome. Help me never confuse trusting You with refusing to move. In Jesus’ name, amen.
