God’s Strength vs. Man’s Strength

Scripture:
“I can do all things through Messiah who gives me power.” — Philippians 4:13 (CJB)

Reflection:
There is a big difference between what we accomplish in our own strength and what God accomplishes through us.

Recently, I pushed myself too hard during exercise and ended up hurting myself. Looking back, pride played a role. I wanted to prove something, to push beyond my limits. My strength failed because it was dependent on me.

Yet when I think about serving on mission in Guatemala, I remember long days, hard work, exhaustion, and challenges that should have worn me out. But somehow there was always enough strength to keep going. Not because I was stronger, but because God was carrying me. What I could not do in my own power, He supplied through His.

Man’s strength often says, “Look what I can do.”
God’s strength says, “Look what He can do through me.”

When we rely on ourselves, we eventually reach our limits. When we rely on God, we discover His strength has no limits at all.

Encouragement:
Today, don’t depend solely on your own abilities, talents, or determination. Trust God to provide the strength you need for the work He has called you to do. His power is made perfect in our weakness.
