Good Enough is Not Good Enough
Too often we settle for “good enough.” But good enough is not what God has called us to. Scripture reminds us:
“Be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” – Matthew 5:48 (CJB)
Now, don’t get me wrong—we all fall short of God’s glory. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us. But that doesn’t mean we stop striving. Grace isn’t an excuse for mediocrity; it’s the strength that picks us up when we fall so we can keep pressing toward Christ.
The danger comes when we think, “Well, I’m saved. I don’t need to try. I’ll just live a decent life and I’ll get to heaven anyway.” But we weren’t called to live just for heaven—we were called to bring heaven down to earth through the way we live, love, and serve.
Failure isn’t falling down. Failure is never starting. Yes, you will stumble. Yes, you will fall. But every time you get back up, you’re stronger. The struggles that once tripped you will one day be stepping stones you hardly notice—because God’s strength in you has made you soar above them.
So don’t settle for good enough. Strive for the greatness God has placed in you. Pursue holiness. Pursue Christlikeness. Pursue love. Give Him your everything. Because good enough is not good enough when we serve a perfect and glorious King.
