Grace for the Storm You Don’t Feel

Scripture:

“Bear one another’s burdens — in this way you will be fulfilling the Torah’s true meaning, which the Messiah upholds.”

— Galatians 6:2 (CJB)

Reflection:

Sometimes someone opens up and says they’re struggling… and if we’re honest, part of us thinks, “That’s not that big of a deal.”

But here’s the truth:

What feels like a light rain to you may be a Category 5 hurricane to them.

You’ve survived storms they haven’t yet faced. You’ve grown muscles in faith they’re still developing. The storm you walk through now might feel small compared to what you endured five years ago — but someone else is facing that same storm for the first time.

We are all at different places in our walk with Christ.

Different levels of maturity.

Different histories.

Different wounds.

The temptation is to measure someone else’s storm by our current strength instead of remembering our former weakness.

Grace says: “I remember when I was there.”

Understanding says: “Let me stand with you.”

Encouragement:

Before you dismiss someone’s struggle, pause.

Instead of minimizing it, step into it with them. Offer patience. Offer prayer. Offer presence.

Because one day, when your sky darkens again, you’ll need someone who remembers what grace looks like in the middle of the wind.

And that’s how the Body grows stronger — not by comparing storms, but by carrying each other through them.

Sometimes the storm is not for you, sometimes you go through the storm because the enemy can't or sometimes you go through the storm so that you can be the guide.
