Is Your Old Self Dead, or Are You Still Holding On?
When we invite Yeshua into our lives, the old self is crucified with Him, and a new creation is born. Paul reminds us:
“So all of us, with faces unveiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into his very image, from one degree of glory to the next, by Adonai the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 (CJB)
When you look in the mirror, you should no longer see the old man of your past but the reflection of Christ in you. That old man—whether he was angry, broken, addicted, or lost—is dead.
A brother of mine once shared how he feared a situation might stir up his old, angry self. But the truth is, when we are transformed in Christ, the old nature no longer has power over us. It’s not about living in fear of what we once were, but living in the glory of who we are now—redeemed, restored, and remade in His image.
Don’t cling to the grave clothes of the past. Live in the freedom and glory of the new creation you are in Messiah.
