It’s Okay to Feel It… But Not to Kneel to It

Scripture:

“But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (CJB)

Reflection:

Feelings are a natural part of being human. Fear, anxiety, doubt, frustration—these emotions will come. Even the strongest believers experience moments when their hearts feel heavy or uncertain.

But there is a difference between feeling something and surrendering to it.

Fear may knock on the door of your heart, but it does not have the authority to rule your life. Doubt may whisper in your mind, but it does not get to determine your direction. When we allow emotions to control our decisions, we begin to bow to something that was never meant to be our master.

God never asked us to pretend we don’t feel things. What He asks is that we bring those feelings to Him instead of kneeling to them.

David felt fear. Elijah felt exhaustion. Even Jesus felt deep anguish in the garden. Yet their response was always the same—they turned to the Father rather than letting the feeling rule them.

You may feel fear today.

You may feel overwhelmed.

You may feel uncertain about the road ahead.

Feel it. Acknowledge it.

But do not kneel to it.

Stand in the authority God has given you. Stand in faith. Stand in truth.

Encouragement:

Today, if fear or doubt shows up in your heart, take a moment and give it to God in prayer. Let Him replace it with His strength and peace. Feelings may visit, but they do not get to sit on the throne of your life—that seat belongs to God alone.
