Knowing Him More
Scripture (CJB):
“I keep asking the God of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you will have full knowledge of him. I pray that he will give light to the eyes of your hearts, so that you will understand the hope to which he has called you, what rich glories there are in the inheritance he has promised his people, and how surpassingly great is his power working in us who trust him. It works with the same mighty strength he used when he worked in the Messiah to raise him from the dead and seat him at his right hand in heaven.”
— Ephesians 1:17-20 (CJB)
Reflection:
One of the greatest blessings we can receive is not more possessions, influence, or success—it is a deeper knowledge of God. Paul’s prayer for the believers in Ephesus was not that their circumstances would change, but that their eyes would be opened. He prayed that they would receive wisdom, revelation, hope, and an understanding of the incredible power available to those who trust in Christ.
Too often we focus on what God can do for us instead of seeking to know Him more intimately. Yet when we truly know Him, everything else begins to fall into perspective. We discover the hope of our calling, the richness of our inheritance as children of God, and the same resurrection power that raised Messiah from the dead at work within us.
God does not want us to live spiritually blind or powerless. He desires that our hearts be enlightened so we can walk confidently in His promises and purpose.
Encouragement:
Today, ask God to open the eyes of your heart. Seek His wisdom above your own understanding. Trust that the same power that raised Yeshua from the grave is available to strengthen, guide, and sustain you. The closer you draw to Him, the more clearly you will see His hand at work in your life.
