Lord, What Do You Want Me to Learn?

Scripture:

“Everything has its season, and there is a time for every purpose under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 (CJB)

Reflection:

There are moments in life when we find ourselves walking through the same valley over and over again — heartbreak, sickness, loss, or struggle. We cry out to God, “Heal me, deliver me, take this away,” but nothing seems to change. When we circle the same mountain repeatedly, it may not be because God isn’t listening — it may be because He’s teaching.

Sometimes the pain is not punishment; it’s preparation. Jesus Himself allowed Paul to be blinded so that his spiritual eyes could be opened. In the same way, what feels like defeat may be the very tool God is using to shape your destiny.

Instead of asking “Why, Lord?” try asking, “What do You want me to understand in this season?” There’s wisdom, growth, and purpose even in the waiting. When we surrender our “why” for His “what,” our suffering becomes a testimony, not a tragedy.

Encouragement:

No matter the season you’re in, God can turn your pain into praise. Don’t let despair become your dwelling place — let it become your altar of understanding.
