Memories Made in the Quiet

“Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.” – Proverbs 17:1

I asked this question on the way home from San Antonio: “How did God move in you during our trip?”

And the answers were beautiful—not because they were about grand events, but because they were about stillness, laughter, and togetherness.

Not one of our favorite memories was centered on what we bought, where we ate, or even the concert—though that was incredible. It was about the quiet moments—sitting on courthouse steps under the stars, walking by the river, and just being together.

Why is that so powerful? Because in those simple, unplanned moments, God speaks the loudest. It’s not always in the fire or the whirlwind, but in the gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12).

What moved us most wasn’t what we did, but who we did it with. It was the peace, the presence, the conversation, the unity. These are the kind of moments where God reminds us that His greatest blessings aren’t always extravagant—they’re eternal: love, connection, and time well spent.

So today, ask yourself this:

🕯 “When was the last time I slowed down long enough to notice the presence of God in a quiet moment?”

Let’s not chase what fades. Let’s cherish what lasts.

Amen.
