Partial Tears & Complete Ruptures
Last week, I let pride get the best of me. During our Men’s Alliance workout, I decided to muscle through a heavy tire flip alone instead of letting my brothers help. My grip slipped, and I partially tore my bicep tendon.
The doctor said I could take the aggressive route — rupture it fully and have surgery — or go slow and let it heal naturally. I chose the slower way, because I believe God was showing me something: pride and rushing can cause damage that could have been avoided if I had leaned on my brothers.
Sometimes God allows “partial tears” in our lives — warning signs before a complete rupture. That rupture might be a broken relationship, lost trust, or even a crisis of faith.
Question for you today: Where in your life have you refused help because of pride? And are you seeing any “partial tears” that God is warning you about before it’s too late?
“Two are better than one… if one of them falls, the other will help his partner up — woe to him who is alone when he falls and has no one to help him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, CJB)
