Prepare for the valley while on the mountaintop.
Scripture:
“Also these words: ‘The wise store up knowledge, but when the fool speaks, ruin is near.’” — Proverbs 10:14 (CJB)
Reflection:
Too often, we only seek God deeply when life starts falling apart. But the mountaintop seasons are not just moments to celebrate — they are moments to prepare. While things are going well, strengthen your prayer life. While your faith feels strong, get rooted deeper in His Word. While your mind is clear, build discipline, wisdom, and trust in God.
The valley will come for all of us at some point. Trials, pain, loss, confusion, and spiritual battles are part of life in a broken world. But the believer who prepared on the mountain walks through the valley differently. They don’t panic as quickly because they already know where their help comes from.
David didn’t learn who God was in the middle of facing Goliath. He learned it while tending sheep in private. The preparation happened before the battle.
Don’t waste your good seasons. Use them to grow stronger, wiser, and closer to God so that when the valley comes, your foundation is already built.
Encouragement:
If you are on the mountaintop today, thank God — but also prepare. And if you are already in the valley, remember this: the same God who met you on the mountain is still walking beside you now. He has not left you.
