Seeing Beyond What We See

Seeing Beyond What We See

Faith is believing in what we cannot see—not just trusting what we can. Scripture reminds us, “For we live by trust, not by what we see” (2 Corinthians 5:7 CJB).

This morning, as I stood under the vast night sky at the ranch in Breckenridge, I saw something most city dwellers never see: millions of stars. In the city, light pollution hides them, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. They’re still shining, even when we can’t see them.

Life is much the same. Distractions, noise, and “light pollution” from the world can blind us to what’s real and what God is doing. Sometimes, we even believe things that look true on the surface but aren’t—the person who seems kind but has hidden motives, or the one we misjudge who turns out to be deeply kindhearted.

Just because something is hidden doesn’t mean it isn’t real. God’s promises, His presence, and His plans for you are just as real as those unseen stars. When tragedy strikes or circumstances confuse us, our eyes may say, “Where is God?” But faith whispers, “He’s here, even if you can’t see Him.”

Sometimes we must step away from the distractions—the noise, the pollution, the busyness of life—to truly see what God has created and designed for us. Don’t let your eyes deceive you. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into what’s truly real.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of realities not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 CJB)

Today, choose to see beyond what’s visible. Trust that even if you can’t see the stars—or God’s hand—He’s still there, shining over you.
