Stand Up and Remember Who You Are
Sometimes we hit that valley—what I call the beat down mode—where you feel tired, exhausted, and drained. But the truth is, as children of God, we don’t have to stay there.
This morning I stood up and said:
“No more. Satan, you have no authority over my mind. You cannot control my thoughts. I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ.”
The only authority in my life is Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. And because of that, I know who I am, and I know whose I am. When you declare that truth with boldness—not just mouthing the words but meaning them—you will see anxiety, fear, and exhaustion lift off of you.
The Word tells us:
“Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Adversary, and he will flee from you.” (Ya’akov/James 4:7, CJB)
So I made the choice:
- To be the man God has called me to be.
- To love and protect my wife, children, and grandchildren.
- To be a brother others can lean on.
A brother called me this morning needing encouragement, and it reminded me—I cannot do that if I’m wallowing in self-pity. I must stand firm in Christ.
So I say this to you: if you’re feeling beat down today, stand up. Remember who you are in Christ. Remember whose you are. Claim it. Own it. Live it.
Do not let the enemy define you with lies. You are a son. You are a daughter. You are redeemed. You are strong because of the One who lives in you.
Stand up.
