The Message Is for You
So many times, when I share a “thought of the day,” I remind myself—they’re not my thoughts. They’re God’s thoughts for His children. I’m simply the messenger, the vessel the Holy Spirit chooses to speak through.
But this isn’t just about devotionals or daily reflections—it applies to every message from God. Whether it’s a sermon at church, a word from a brother or sister in Christ, or even a song lyric that stirs your spirit—when it speaks life into you, don’t question it. Don’t think, Was this really meant for me? The answer is always yes.
God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). That means it’s personal—it’s for you, and at the very same time, it’s for everyone. What you receive may look different from what the person next to you receives, because we’re all walking through different seasons. Yet God tailors His Word to every heart that’s willing to listen.
Here’s a reminder: if you ever find yourself thinking, Wow, so-and-so really needs to hear this, check your heart. That’s not where your focus should be. Instead, ask: What does God have for me in this message? When the Spirit prompts you to pass something along to someone else, that’s a different story—but always start by receiving the Word for yourself.
Maybe even before you walk into church or open your Bible, pray: “Lord, open my heart and mind to what You have for me today.” Because you never know—one word from God can change your entire outlook, your direction, and even your life.
