True Change Comes with True Repentance

Scripture:

“Therefore, turn to God and repent, so that your sins may be erased; so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

— Ma‘asei (Acts) 3:19, CJB

Reflection:

Real change doesn’t begin with behavior—it begins with the heart. We often want God to change our circumstances, our habits, or the people around us, while avoiding the deeper work He wants to do within us. But Scripture is clear: repentance isn’t just feeling bad or saying sorry; it’s a turning. A turning away from what separates us from God and a turning toward Him in humility and obedience.

True repentance invites God into the process. It says, “Lord, I don’t want to stay who I’ve been. I want to walk in Your ways.” And when that happens, change isn’t forced—it’s formed. Slowly, faithfully, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Encouragement:

If you’re longing for real, lasting change, don’t be discouraged—be honest. God is not repelled by a repentant heart; He is drawn to it. Lay it down, turn fully toward Him, and trust that He will do what only He can do. True repentance always leads to true renewal.

I know this applies to us all but I specifically want to attach a good friend of mine Cameron to this and ask God to be there with my brother
