There comes a moment in life when God doesn’t just whisper a direction… He confirms it. Doors begin to open. Obstacles begin to move. Things that should have been difficult suddenly come together with peace instead of confusion. And in those moments, we have a choice to make: trust Him completely, or keep holding on to a backup plan because we’re afraid He won’t come through.
Faith was never meant to be half committed.
Too many times we ask God to lead us, but then keep one foot planted in “just in case.” We hold on to old security blankets, escape routes, and plan B’s because fully letting go requires trust. But if God has already shown you the path, why are you still clinging to the old road?
Recently, God opened a door for something bigger than business… bigger than property… bigger than success. A vision was placed in front of us to create a place where people who need a second chance can find hope again. A place where men and women can work, learn a skill, rebuild their lives, and realize they still have value. Because sometimes all a person needs is one opportunity… one person willing to believe in them… one chance to change everything.
And God began aligning every piece.
A brother in Christ, Gary, had land he loved but could no longer maintain alone. Through God’s provision, a path opened where he could remain there while Guiding Light Contractors steps into the vision God has been building in our hearts. No fighting. No resistance. No chaos. Just peace. Just confirmation. Just God moving.
Then came the moment of trust.
We were told we should maybe wait before letting go of the building we currently lease… just in case. But if God is truly leading us forward, why would we keep gripping the old thing out of fear? At some point, faith requires release.
You cannot fully grab hold of God’s promise while refusing to let go of your backup plan.
When God parts the waters, you walk forward.
When God opens the door, you step through it.
When God confirms the vision, you stop negotiating with fear.
Don’t let doubt keep you tied to what God is asking you to leave behind.
Scripture:
“Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him; then He will level your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6 (CJB)
Reflection:
Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not starting something new… it’s finally letting go of the old thing you’ve been holding onto “just in case.”
Encouragement:
If God is making the path clear, keep walking. Don’t create a plan B because fear is louder than faith. God doesn’t call us to live with one hand on His promise and the other hand on an escape route. Trust Him completely, and watch what He builds through your obedience.
