What Choice Will You Make

This weekend at the Bible Baptist camp has been more than a retreat — it’s been a focused season of renewal. For 72 hours we’re pressing in to break the grip of the world’s flesh and to practice a renewed mind in Christ. As I listened and prayed, I kept seeing the metaphor from The Matrix: two choices. The blue pill lets you remain comfortable in a false reality. The red pill removes the veil so you can see clearly — and once you see, there’s no going back.

Scripture calls us out of illusion and into truth. Romans tells us not to be conformed to this age but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Rom. 12:2). When the Spirit opens our eyes we begin to see how sin really wounds us and how deep God’s mercy and grace run. Grace doesn’t excuse our sin — it exposes it with love and gives us the power to turn away from it. The result isn’t guilt that crushes, but a heart that wants holiness because we respect and love our Father.

If you’re choosing today — choose the red pill of truth. Choose the hard, freeing path that leads to life. Choose to be known by Him, and to let His love change the way you live and treat others. Let’s be people who, having been shown grace, refuse to judge but instead give mercy as we were given mercy.

Scripture: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 (CJB)

What veil is God asking you to remove today?

Father, open our eyes to your truth. Give us courage to remove the veils that hide our sin and to receive your mercy that changes us. Help us live in the freedom of your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
