Thought of The Day >

When the Silence Feels Loud

June 16, 2025, 3:27 PM

There are days when the Word jumps off the page… when prayer flows like a river… when we feel the presence of the Holy Spirit so strongly that it’s overwhelming. And then, there are days when it’s just… quiet.

Not empty.

Not abandoned.

Just quiet.

And in that silence, we can start to doubt. “Did I do something wrong?” “Where is God today?” But the truth is—God has not gone anywhere. His presence is not dependent on our feelings.

We have to be careful not to treat our relationship with the Lord like a spiritual dopamine hit—chasing the emotional high, rather than resting in the faithful truth that He is always with us (Hebrews 13:5).

Even when heaven feels silent, God is still speaking—just not always in fireworks. Sometimes He speaks in stillness, in patience, in the quiet of our obedience.

So if today feels quiet, don’t let the enemy tell you God isn’t near. Sometimes the silence is just God teaching us how to walk by faith, not by feeling (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Stay rooted. He’s still right there.
