Who Are You Showing the World?
Scripture:
“ADONAI doesn’t see the way humans see — humans look at the outward appearance, but ADONAI looks at the heart.”
— 1 Samuel 16:7 (CJB)
Reflection:
Every day we present a version of ourselves to the world. We smile when we’re hurting, act strong when we’re struggling, and sometimes wear masks to hide our fears, failures, and insecurities.
But there is One Person we can never hide from.
God sees beyond the image we project. He sees the thoughts we don’t speak, the wounds we don’t share, and the person we are when no one else is watching. The question isn’t whether God sees the hidden side of us—He already does. The question is whether we are willing to bring that hidden side into His light.
Many people spend their lives trying to convince others they’re okay while avoiding the very things God wants to heal. Yet freedom begins when the person the world sees and the person God sees become the same person.
Authenticity isn’t weakness; it’s surrender. It is allowing God to transform who we truly are rather than maintaining an image of who we want others to think we are.
So today, ask yourself: Am I showing the world the person God is shaping me to be, or am I hiding behind a version of myself that feels safer?
The more we walk in truth before God, the less we need to hide from others.
Encouragement:
You don’t have to pretend with God. He already knows every flaw, every struggle, and every victory. Yet He loves you completely. Bring the hidden parts of your life before Him today and allow His grace to transform them. The person God is creating in you is far greater than any mask you could ever wear.
