Why Do You Follow Jesus?
For a long time, when asked why I’m a Christian, I would answer with my testimony. But I’ve come to realize something important:
my testimony explains how I became a Christian — not why I remain one.
How you became a Christian is your past.
Why you follow Jesus is your present — today.
So why am I a Christian?
I’m a Christian because of the love Christ shows me every single day.
Because He went to the cross for me.
Because He died — and because He was raised.
Christianity was never promised to be easy. It was never about wealth, comfort, or status. Yeshua Himself said that following Him would involve hardship, rejection, and suffering. But even in that, His love outweighs every trial, every doubt, and every moment of pain we face.
At the heart of it all, we are called to love — to love God and to love one another.
“I am giving you a new command: that you keep on loving each other. In the same way that I have loved you, you are also to keep on loving each other.”
— John 13:34 (CJB)
So today, ask yourself honestly:
Why are you a Christian?
And if you’re not — why not?
For me, the answer is simple.
Christ’s love is why I follow Him.
Be encouraged — His love has not changed, and it never will.
