Women, Are You the Wife Your Man Needs You to Be?
Scripture (CJB):
“Nevertheless, each of you must love his wife as himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
—Ephesians 5:33 (CJB)
Reflection:
Marriage was never meant to be one-sided strength. While men are often expected to be steady, strong, and unmoved, they too carry burdens that weigh heavy on the heart. Sometimes what a man needs most isn’t advice, correction, or solutions—but comfort. He needs to know he’s not alone. He needs to be held, encouraged, and reminded that someone is standing with him no matter what.
God created marriage as a partnership—two becoming one. A wife’s presence, gentleness, and reassurance can be a refuge when the world presses in. Respect doesn’t mean silence, and strength doesn’t mean hardness. There is holy power in tenderness, patience, and compassion. When a wife chooses to speak life, offer peace, and remain present, she reflects the nurturing heart of God Himself.
Encouragement:
Being a godly wife isn’t about perfection—it’s about partnership. Speak words that build. Offer grace when stress is high. Be the safe place where your husband can lay his armor down. “Two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9), and sometimes the greatest ministry happens in quiet moments of comfort and reassurance.
And if you feel you’ve fallen short, take heart—God specializes in restoration. His mercies are new every morning. Today is a beautiful day to love deeper, listen closer, and stand stronger together.
