You Weren’t Meant to Carry It All

Stress is going to come. There will be moments when life feels heavy, the problems seem to pile up, and you don’t know how you’re going to handle one more thing.

But sometimes the problem isn’t just what we’re going through—it’s that we’re trying to carry it all ourselves.

We want control. We want to fix it. We want to figure out the answer. We run every scenario through our minds, trying to determine what happens next. And before long, we’re carrying tomorrow’s problems, today’s responsibilities, and things that were never ours to control in the first place.

Sometimes you need to stop.

Take a breath. Clear your head. Find your quiet place and talk to God.

Tell Him what you’re worried about. Tell Him what you need. Tell Him what you’re afraid of. Then do one of the hardest things for us to do:

Give Him control.

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV

Notice Scripture doesn’t tell us to manage all our cares. It tells us to cast them upon Him.

That doesn’t mean the situation instantly disappears. It means you no longer have to carry it alone.

There are things you need to handle, decisions you need to make, and responsibilities God has given you. Do those things faithfully. But when you’ve done what you can do, don’t keep carrying what only God can handle.

Pray about it. Surrender it. Trust Him with it.

God knows what you need. He knows what tomorrow holds. He sees the things you cannot see, and He is already working in places you cannot reach.

So if you’re stressed today, ask yourself:

Am I carrying something God has been asking me to give to Him?

Open your hands.

Give it to God.

Trust His provision. Trust His timing. Trust His direction.

You were never meant to carry everything. You were meant to walk with the One who can.

It is so hard to distinguish between taking the steps I am meant to take and what I am meant to let go of!! The lines get blurred. I know that there is so much for me to unpack at the cross, but it feels overwhelming. I put on my tough exterior and my brave face and push forward.
Lord help me to unpack what I am not meant to continue to carry so that I can fully surrender to you
